Even now I do not link the word ‘intelligence’ with the mind. I sense intelligence is being in harmony with life. Existing in cooperation with one another.Witnessing the world through the eyes of a child is the most sacred gift we will ever own. But often we are misguided to lose this connection. When we arrive into adulthood we are often influenced by others with their expectations of how adults must behave.
We learn new ways of being in our education at schools and we are taught to perceive intelligence as a presence in the mind. Often in our educational years we learn to hide, in order to avoid criticism or being questioned. This certainly happened with me. If we retain the gifts seeing through the eyes of a child we are again questioned challenged and told to grow up. My educational years were lonely as I questioned the teachers stating they were only wanting me to become a gear in a machine I would never serve. For me, this was the beginning of redefining the word ‘intelligence’. To me, intelligence is not of the mind, it is of the whole. Intelligence can not simply live in the mind, that in itself is a limitation. Intelligence is never limited, it expands and can never remain still, for it evolves and grows.
We are taught to believe that intelligence is knowledge. If intelligence is knowledge, then surely true intelligence is trusting knowing? If knowing is intelligent, then within this knowing is sensing, feeling, navigating the self in relation to the outside world. To witness the invisible world in our soulful selves and be present, before we expand towards the visible world.
Intelligence is trusting the balance of harmony that gives us life. To live with it and not against it. But yet we consider ourselves to be an intelligent species, but we harm our own home that sustains our lives. Only a fool would hurt the home that sustains their life.
To see this world through intelligent eyes can hurt, it can confuse, it can isolate us from the life that we have learned to live. And within this isolation we need to return to the trust that lies within. Intelligence is the miracle of nature as she holds the balance of life.
Nature holds no thoughts in her mind, she only holds the way of life. When we truly return to the power of intelligence, we return to life. We reconnect to the magic around us through the child’s eyes. We dive deep inside ourselves, retrieving what we need to receive.
And this is where my life is right now. Retrieving what needs to be received. To remember seeing through the eyes of the child and bring this connection to the present.
It is a gift of seeing for the human in being.
As a species, we are currently in a moment of moving through madness. Intelligence is no longer of the mind, it is in balance with all beings, in partnership with life itself.
It is a gift to look within, to sense the invisible depths of the soul and give presence to the miracle of life as a whole. This is a way to honour ourselves and our lives for us all. May we open our hearts and break down this wall.
For these cities we live in where intelligence hides is where nature awaits in truth not lies. May our intelligence rise from the soulful self and may we learn to believe in our natural wealth. We are stronger together, like roots of a tree, we are stronger together.
For you and me are ‘WE’
