During my time in Mexico teaching ‘The Silence of Sound’ I used a drum specifically created for that environment.Even though this drum was made for this environment, I always knew it was never mine to truly hold. I sensed it had another home. So, I contacted students from Mexico and one dear friend chose to become its new owner. This provided an opportunity to reconnect to my master drum maker Tõnu Talimaa from Estonia and request he create a new drum for me. The photo above is his new creation. Why am I sharing this with you, you may ask? It is simple, we are all human. We live with doubt, disconnection, confusion, but we also live with clarity, compassion, connection and conscious creation. For this to exist, we need to dive deep into the presence of trust, beyond the limitations of the mind. And this is where ‘Trusting the Spirit Self’ is born again and again. It is here, we learn to trust the flow of our own creativity, our own inner pathways walking in the mind and the body in partnership with spirit. For it is here that magic is whispering to us. A few days ago, I visited my dear friend Tõnu Talimaa, who is a master drum maker. He had made this new drum for me following the guidance from spirit and now I am the owner of this drum. It is a powerful drum with an ancient presence and even though it is only 40cm in diameter its tone appears greater. This depth of trusting the inner pathways in partnership with spirt takes time to develop. We need to be gentle with ourselves, to minimise the critical voice that blames us for missing moments, then calling them mistakes. Nothing is a mistake if we sit with the moment itself, it is all a deep learning experiencing the pathway of partnership with spirit. In order, to deepen this pathway of trust, we need to sit with accepting the power of the mind and this is the key practice I teach in ‘The Silence of Sound’ training. When we sit with all that we are, we welcome the spirt of who we are. And it is here, that we truly begin to grow. For we allow everything we are to be, without creating inner pathways of confusion. We create pathways of partnership trusting our connection to spirit. This is a journey of the soulful self.
