The Drums Tongue

From the hollow bone to the healing tone.

The inside of the tube is visible, showing a musical instrument or object inside. The background features a black circular decorative item with gold accents.

We use our tongues to talk and express ourselves as we bring thoughts into words. But within shamanism we practice becoming the hollow bone, which provides a space for spirit to talk through us. Throughout my teaching career I have been asked to share rhythms to my students supporting their healing practice. From my personal experiences all healing comes from spirit and the more presence we give to this connection the more powerful this partnership becomes.

The Drums Tongue gently guides you to witness the presence of your ego. Deepening your conscious curiosity with the intention to receive clarity towards all aspects of yourself. This depth of awareness refines and nurtures your own unique reciprocity with yourself, your drum and your healing spirits. This becomes the essential foundation, enhancing your unique relationship to your drum. As you trust your Drums Tongue more, you nourish this dynamic and trustworthy relationship with all drums and percussion. And ultimately the authentic alliance with your spirits, healing tools and practice. Together you become one, combining your unique presence in harmony with the voice of your drum.

  • The Drums Tongue is an advanced training refining your own unique with yourself and your drum. I will guide you to welcome the way of witnessing in harmony with the way of visioning. If you wish to deepen your healing practice and become more openly advanced in your healing presence working with the drum this training is for you.

Each module is specifically written guiding you towards the inner depth of your own creativity whereby spirit is the composer. This unique partnership provides the true authentic power of your presence beyond the distractions of ego. By devoting our trust to our drums tongue we discover our own unique healing techniques as we both develop and enhance this new language that your drum shares with you.

  • You are invited to centre yourself beyond your ego and fully connect with your body in complete connection with your drum. It is here you will be guided to trust the voice of your drum without being influenced by self judgements or self criticisms. You will be guided to welcome the practice of re-learning how to play from the drums tongue itself without following the distractions of your desires to do more. What was once a thought in your mind to be better becomes a trusting surrender to become lesser. It is this discipline of practice that guides you to your true authentic voice that the drums tongue wants you to share. This is the voice of the soul in partnership drum, spirit and sound, from the hollow bone to the healing tone.

  • So many of my students ask me to teach them healing rhythms and I always reply with the same answer: “Listen and learn from your drum as this is your teacher”. Many students find this answer difficult to comprehend as they wish to be taught so they can follow, but following me will never guide them to themselves. The drums tongue provides a deeply compassionate approach inviting the sacred balance of internal perception with the power of external action. We re-learn the practice of witnessing our thoughts as whispers guiding us towards the depth of self awareness embodying the drums tongue as a new way to be.

WORKSHOPS & EVENTS

“A shaman who made my drum recommended Pete’s The Drums Tongue workshop to learn how to be one with the drum. Pete taught me that if you listen closely, the drum will tell me how it wishes to be played and that I can share all my emotions with the drum. I was amazed by the power of my drum and what Pete taught in only 3 days. The Drums Tongue is a MUST for anyone who wants to connect more deeply with his/her drum. I always recommend Pete to everyone who is starting their journey with their drum.”
